The following guide will walk you through the process of setting up FOUR MDM to integrate with Android Enterprise.

Before starting, you should have one of either:

  • A managed Google domain
  • A Gmail account not associated with any other EMM provider

Using a managed Google domain is preferred, but not required, and unlocks additional functionality within FOUR MDM. See the following help article from Google for more information.

Hint: Even if your organisation doesn't use Google products, it is still required to use one of the above in order to proceed. In these cases, we recommend starting with a fresh Gmail account owned by your organisation — you can always upgrade to a managed Google domain later.

Setting up your account

  • Access the MDM app: In the sidebar, navigate to MDM > Enterprise Setup.
  • Start the connection flow: You will be prompted to connect your Google account to MDM. This will open a workflow with Google.
  • Sign in with your account: If you're using a managed Google domain, ensure that you log in using an administrator account — you will not be able to proceed otherwise.
  • Finish the sign-up process: If you're using a standalone Gmail account, you may be prompted to sign in instead with a managed Google domain. You can continue the process by following the steps under "Sign up for Android only".

Once the setup wizard is complete, you will be returned to FOUR MDM. You can confirm the process is complete if you see your Enterprise ID listed under Enterprise Setup. It will look similar to enterprises/xxxyyyzzzz.

Next step: With Android Enterprise connected, you're ready to start creating policies and provisioning devices.
